3 EAST 3rd
3 East 3rd Street is a book-poem about a New York City hostel, whose rooms were so small one could barely fit in them.
The book was written so as to be played with. Although it was composed according to a specific order, the text was cut into shorter grammatical sequences, alluding to overheard bits of conversations. The poem was printed using rubber stamps onto match-like boxes, sealed by an acetate film.
Using the simple logic of building blocks, one may construct their own rooms while exploring endless poetic possibilities.
